Renny Iordanova and Valia Iordanova, the founders of the company, have been instrumental in shaping the accounting and audit landscape in Bulgaria since the establishment of AFA.
Renny Iordanova holds the distinction of being one of the first eight Certified Public Accountants in Bulgaria. Her contributions to the profession are extensive, including roles such as a member of the CPA examination commission and the Management Board of the Association of Certified Public Accountants. Currently, she serves as the chairwoman of the Supervisory Council of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Bulgaria and is renowned for her expertise as a lecturer on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and audit practices.
Valia Iordanova was appointed by the Ministry of Finance in 1991 to specialise in audit practices in London, where she gained valuable expertise from major international accounting firms. In recent years, she has been actively involved in various capacities, such as serving on the CPA examination commission and consulting with the World Bank on projects aimed at enhancing accounting and audit regulations in Bulgaria. Valia Iordanova has also been an essential part of translating International Accounting Standards, International Financial Reporting Standards, and International Standards on Auditing into Bulgarian. Like her counterpart, she is a respected lecturer on IFRS and audit practice at the Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Both Renny Iordanova and Valia Iordanova are licensed by the Bulgarian National Bank and the Insurance Supervision Agency to conduct audits of banking and insurance institutions, showcasing their expertise and credibility in the field.
